The National Disability Insurance Scheme promotes a wide range of opportunities for assisting people with disabilities.With the rollout of the NDIS in Victoria in 2017, there is an expectation that there will be an increased demand for trained disability staff.
This course prepares you for work in residential and community settings to provide training and support to people with disabilities within a person centered framework.
You will develop the skills and knowledge to advocate for and empower people with disabilities; enhancing their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance and community participation.
Subjects undertaken include, support practices for direct client care, providing person centered services, implementing strategies for people with complex needs, increasing community participation, enhancing communication,applying legal and ethical guidelines and effectively networking.
